Browse by Region

Four main Irish hunting regions, each with its own terrain, species mix and outfitter base.

County Wicklow

The most-booked stalking county. Four outfitters, open mountain and Coillte forestry, 40 minutes from Dublin Airport. Primary species: Sika, Red, Fallow.

County Kerry

Ireland's most dramatic stalking landscape. 20,000 ha of mountain, native Red deer herd, Sika and feral goat. Shannon or Kerry Airport.

County Cork & Munster

Three species in one trip — Red, Sika and Fallow. Cork Airport has direct UK and European routes, bypassing Dublin entirely.

County Donegal

Remote northwest, low hunter pressure, 6,000+ acres of Sika ground. Atlantic mountain and Coillte forestry. Belfast or Knock airports.

Browse by Species

Three deer species, one wingshooting option. Each has its own season, terrain and character.

Sika Deer

Ireland's most widely hunted species. Introduced to Wicklow in 1860, now found from Kerry to Donegal. Long stag season: August 1st – April 30th. The autumn rut whistle is unmistakable.

Red Deer

Ireland's only native deer. The Killarney herd is the most genetically pure in the country. Stag season September 1st – December 31st. The Kerry rut is one of Ireland's great wildlife moments.

Fallow Deer

Lowland woodland species with the most striking antlers of any Irish deer. Present since Norman times. Buck season September 1st – December 31st. October rut in wooded demesne ground.

Woodcock & Snipe

Wild walked-up shooting in the Atlantic west. Ryan's River Lodge — internationally regarded, 100% repeat client base. Season September 1st – January 31st.

Tell us about your hunt

One short form. We'll pass it to the Irish outfitter best suited to your dates, region and species. No account, no spam, no booking fee.

Typical reply: within 24 hours.

We pass your details to one Irish outfitter only. We do not sell your data.

Firearms & the Law

Visiting hunters can almost always import a rifle or shotgun for a guided trip — your outfitter handles the temporary import / visitor firearms certificate paperwork. Irish residents need a Firearms Certificate from An Garda Síochána, which requires a Garda-approved proficiency course for first-time applicants.
